Never underestimate the power of a strong network
As HMO investors, we wanted to get to know other landlords in the local area, so we looked around for a local community to join where:
- People shared regular compliance updates
- Industry experts shared their knowledge and answered questions
- Landlords helped each other and shared their experiences
After looking around, we couldn’t find such a community, so we decide to create the Bristol Landlords Group.
This group has over 300 landlords in the local area, ranging from beginners to portfolio builders. We also have a range of industry professionals, mortgage brokers, planning experts, tax specialists there to help and share their experience!
The power of networking shouldn’t be underestimated.
During 2020 and the pandemic, we have been very fortunate to have the president of ARLA in our network. We have been able to bounce ideas off him, talking through legislation changes and COVID updates.
Thanks to this connection, we were able to write many COVID policies alongside him, ensuring throughout the pandemic, we could:
- Keep everybody safe
- Keep our landlords compliant
- Offer our continued service to both landlords and tenants
- Keep our void rate at 0%
- Keep our rent arrears to £0
